A Standard match in Pokemon UNITE is a 5v5 game. However, there are other game modes that only allow 4v4 or 3v3. This guide shows how many players can participate in each game mode, and how many players can queue together.

Total Number of Players
Up to 10 Players
In Pokemon UNITE, up to a total of 10 players can compete with each other in a match and up to 5 players can be on a single team.
Teams will be split into two, one purple team and one orange team.
Each game mode has its own set rules to play by. There are also 4v4 and 3v3 modes.
Fun on Solo or With Friends
The game is perfectly fine playing on your own. However, you can also have a group of up to 4 friends to enjoy the game together!

Ranked match is a 5v5 game mode set on Remoat Stadium.
Due to being a competitive mode, players cannot queue together as a team of 4 members.

Like ranked matches, standard matches are a 5v5 game mode set on Remoat Stadium.
Up to 5 members can queue together in this mode.

Quick Battle

Quick battles only last 5 minutes in Pokemon UNITE. Currently, the mode can be split into two match types, 3v3 and 4v4.
Quick battles also has a daily rotation for the playable map. This means that if the map you want to play on it not available today, you will have to wait for the Daily Reset to play on it tomorrow.
Quick Battle: How to Unlock and Rules

This Quick Battle match type lets you queue with any number of teammates of up to 4 people.

Like the other Quick Battle match type, 3v3 mode lets you queue together with one or two friends.

Custom Battles replaced Friendly Matches as part of the 1.4.1.2 Update. They are similar to the Tournament Mode but has no custom rules feature.
All Maps are Available
Players can choose from all maps from other game modes, allowing them to create 5v5, 4v4, or 3v3 matches. The Quick Battle maps in Custom Battle do not go on a rotation and are always available for players to play in.
Play With Bots
Custom Battles also allow players to add bots as allies and enemies. You can be more dynamic on how you want the teams to be. For example, you could have 3 players and 2 bots on each team, making it a 5v5 match consisting of 3 people and 2 bots.
