13 mei 2010 · This year, at 101, he returns to Cannes with a new film competing in the "Un Certain Regard" category, O Estranho Caso de Angelica.
Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira made his first movie in 1942, the year Casablanca came out, and he wasn't especially young at the time. This year, at 101, he returns to Cannes with a new film competing in the "Un Certain Regard" category, O Estranho Caso de Angelica, about a young Jewish photographer hired to take a staged, post-mortem portrait of the beautiful Angelica, the daughter of a prominent Catholic family.
