As a senior social media advisor you have a very varied range of tasks, where you are responsible for all official social media content, interaction and accounts of the Royal Military Police.

We are looking for a professional social media advisor with a clear vision on the use of social media in the context of the Royal Military Police. You have knowledge of and experience with the professional use of social media for a large organization. You have a nose for content, but also know how to further professionalize social media use in the organization. You know how to collaborate at all levels within and outside the organization and have an affinity with the work and the special position of the Royal Military Police.

What are you going to do?

• Embedding internal and external digital and social media in the communication approach of the Royal Military Police.
• Managing and further developing the corporate accounts of the Royal Military Police.
• Further developing the approach for webcare in coordination with the customer contact center.
• Training and supervising employees who provide webcare on behalf of the KMar and/or independently participate in social media.
• Providing environmental analyses, (social) media monitoring and training/guiding other users in this regard.
• Initiating, planning and developing multimedia content for digital and social media.
• Participating as a Senior Advisor in the CCE work consultation, defense-wide consultations, coordination with chain partners and various departments and projects.
• Responsible for drawing up and adjusting the social media strategy of the Royal Military Police.

The work can be carried out partly in the office and partly at home. Since the Royal Military Police works 24 hours a day on safety in the Netherlands, your work may also take place outside regular office hours.

• You have a relevant HBO education.
• Multi-year experience in a similar position in the field of social media is a must.
• You have excellent digital skills, preferably also with creating simple graphic products and video editing.

The Royal Military Police (KMar) monitors the security of the State. In the Netherlands and far beyond. It is deployed worldwide in places of strategic importance. From the royal palaces to the outer borders of Europe. From airports in the Netherlands to war and crisis areas all over the world. The KMar is versatile for safety, especially when it counts.

We have been an independent armed forces unit since 1998. As one of the four armed forces, the Marechaussee is part of the Ministry of Defense alongside the Royal Navy, Royal Army and Royal Air Force. The KMar is a police organization with military status. Due to its specific task, the KMar, unlike the sea, land and air forces, does not fall under the direct command of the Commander of the Armed Forces. Except when the KMar is deployed abroad for tasks other than police duties vis-à-vis military personnel. The Command (CKMar) carries out police tasks under the Police Act (PW) 2012. The tasks are carried out both nationally and internationally and during missions. In addition, the CKMar provides capacity to the Commander of the Armed Forces for participation in (military) missions, in which the CKMar carries out tasks other than those assigned in the PW.

The work is carried out within the Cluster CCE of the Cabinet of Staff CKMar.

The CKMar Staff is responsible for supporting CKMar in the management of the Royal Military Police.

The CKMar Staff operates at the strategic level and is involved in, among other things:

• vision and strategy development for the KMar, including analyzing social developments and developing their consequences for the KMar;
• participating in and influencing the policy and plan development of authority and management, including the BPB process aimed at the allocation and control of resources;
• advising CKMar and the SG of Defense in his role as corps manager of the KMar;
• framework, support and facilitation of the decentralized units.
